Artist, matriarch, and storyteller, Dr. Sheela Sharma translates 30 years of study in painting, cultural anthropology, Indian mythology, and folk art forms into stunning oil canvases that exude a profound spiritual presence. Her work juxtaposes folk religious imagery with the modern pantheon of Hindu deities, weaving together ancient systems of belief from the margins to the mainstream, on seamless and complex planes.
